Founded in 2012, the Denver-based Colorado Jazz Repertory Orchestra (CJRO) performs rollicking big band classics and contemporary jazz tunes to enthusiastic crowds across the state. It’s six-piece ensemble boasts some of Colorado’s best jazz musicians, playing hits by Stan Kenton, Duke Ellington, Maynard Ferguson, Buddy Rich and others, and original arrangements by CJRO artistic director, Drew Zaremba. The Sextet is joined on the Solaris stage by Marion Powers, a six-time DownBeat Award-winning jazz vocalist Marion’s dynamic improvisation skill, and fresh and modern arranging style, keep her in high demand from coast to coast.
